The area around the villa
The villa is located in “Adelianos Kampos” area, which is 6 km east from Rethymno town and around 300 meters from the beach. The long 15 km sandy beach of Rethymno lies in front of Adelianos Kampos stretches.
In Adelianos Kampos you will find options for eating, shopping, entertainment and activities such as tennis court and kart tracks, most of them are reachable in around 500 meters distance. The beach is very well organised with umbrellas, lifeguards, changing rooms, showers, bars, etc. It is very popular for its infrastructure of the water sports and beach sports. The sea is shallow but often wavy, like all open beaches of north Crete.
Sea turtles lay their eggs on this vast beach and that is why you might see some marked points with ropes and signs.
Next to Adelianos Kampos and before the town of Rethymno, you will find the touristic area of Platanias, where you can find shops, restaurants, beach bars, clubs, supermarkets and everything else that you might need!

Beaches
The closest sandy beach to the villa is Adelianos Kampos beach which is 300 m away and there are many other choices for beaches around the villa.
- Rethymno beach: The long sandy beach of Rethymno which is 4 km away from the villa. The sandy beach of Panormo village on your way to Heraklion which is 16 km away. The sandy beach of Episkopi village which is 22 km away in your way to Chania.
- Panormos beach: In Panormo there are actually two main beaches and a few smaller ones. Panormos is a natural harbor with calm water. The harbor (Limanaki) beach serves as the port of the area. It is sandy and the sea has clear water. It is ideal for families with small children, as it is shallow and it's cement pier protects it from waves. It is well organized with umbrellas, showers, water sports and many options for accommodation and food around. Adjacent, on the east, there is a smaller sandy unorganized beach, not preferred by swimmers.
- Geropotamos beach: The beach is named after the homonym river that empties in the east end of the beach. The small beach is sandy and has crystal clear water, which is very cool because of the river, which has water all year round and forms a small deep lake near the shore. It is slightly organized with umbrellas and a canteen that offers refreshments, coffee, water and food supplies. Despite the easy access, it is always quiet and not crowded. However, the orientation of the shore makes it vulnerable to north winds.
- Bali beach: Nestling in the surrounding mountains of the bay of Bali you will find the coastal village of the same name 34 km east of Rethymno. Visitors may choose from which of the small inlets to enjoy bathing at organised sandy beaches. The area offers a large number of tavernas and shops.
On the South coast of the island you can also discover some of Crete’s most amazing natural beaches such as “Schinaria”, “Damnoni”, “Triopetra”, “Agios Pavlos” and "Preveli". The distance to the South coast from the villa is about 40 minutes by car and all the above beaches are located near to Plakias village where you can find shops and many taverns.
